Biegel was a third-team all-Big Ten selection last season and was off to a good start this season.

The news is a devastating blow to No. 8 Wisconsin (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten) ahead of a huge game against No. 4 MI (4-0, 1-0) in Ann Arbor.

"I really hate any time a player has to miss time due to an injury, especially a senior like Vince", Chryst said in a news release.

But the offense will need to step up as the Cougar defense goes up against its biggest tests of the season. Helton's clock management has been extremely poor while his decision making has been overly conservative.

The simplest move would be to move redshirt freshman Zack Baun, Biegel's backup, into the starting lineup opposite T.J. Watt. He had 16 1/2 tackles for loss and 7 1/2 sacks in 2014. He was a defensive force in the team's win against Michigan State with 10 quarterback hurries, according to Pro Football Focus. He ranks eighth on Wisconsin's career sacks list with 18.5. Starting inside linebacker Jack Cichy could also play outside, moving Ryan Connelly into a starting spot at inside linebacker. This team is very important to him and he is very important to our team. "When he pins his ears back and he lets loose, he is one of the best". He is fast. And he is very physical.

"That was fun to see". "He either plays on it, and then if he breaks it, then he's going to be out for eight weeks".

Earlier Thursday, the Badgers learned that kicker Rafael Gaglianone will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing back surgery.
