A 2-year-old boy in Philadelphia is in critical condition after his 4-year-old cousin accidentally shot him on Thanksgiving, police said.
The boy was rushed to Temple University Hospital, and then Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Police said it appears the boy and his 4-year-old male cousin were playing with a gun inside a residence when the younger child was shot.
Police say a preliminary investigation reveals the gun belongs to the two-year-old's mother. Her boyfriend has been charged with firearms violations.

According to neighbor Sonia Pizarro, she saw police cars outside the house at around 5:00pm.
"The mother was preparing Thanksgiving dinner when the two kids were playing with the gun", Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Rachel Santiago and Omar Laboy-Veg were detained by officers on Friday and face child endangerment offences.
Authorities say the four-year-old has been taken into protective custody.
According to The Washington Post, there were 51 shootings involving toddlers in the United States from January 1st to October 20th of this year.
