The United Nations defines refugees as people forced to flee their home country to escape persecution, war or violence.
"The needs of refugees and migrants worldwide have never been greater, and the United States resettlement programme is one of the most important in the world", says a joint statement from the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). "We are not going out to harm people of other countries".
Stars have also declared their opposition to the U.S. president's executive orders.
When asked if Christians would be given special status, he replied "yes", adding: "They've been horribly treated... everybody was persecuted in all fairness, but they were chopping off the heads of everybody but more so the Christians. This is a religious decision I think", Abu Mohammad said.

"UNHCR and IOM remain committed to working with the U.S. Administration towards the goal we share to ensure safe and secure resettlement and immigration programmes".
The agencies say it's important to treat refugees equally, regardless of their religion, nationality or race.
Trump justified the moves as necessary to prevent "radical Islamic terrorists" from entering the US.
