Adele restarts George Michael tribute: 'I can't mess this up for him'

In scenes reminiscent of Mean Girls, Adele broke her Grammy for Album of the Year in half on stage at the award ceremony on Sunday night so she could give the crowning part to Beyoncé. "I'm sorry, I can't mess this up for him". She said: "I can't possibly accept this award".

"Adele is a huge Beyonce fan, and it was her idea to team up together". At one time he even brought his famed "Carpool Karaoke" down the aisle, picking up Jennifer Lopez and pals along with Neil Diamond for a rendition of "Sweet Caroline" and got the whole center singing along. "I spoke to her before just to let her know how honored and privileged I felt to be nominated alongside her, and we spoke afterward as well and she was very gracious and humble, as always, as we've come to expect", she added. I'm not sure if it was your epic maternity shoot or Grammys loss that finally inspired me, but I'm ready to tell you how proud I am of you for fighting the good fight and using your platform to raise up those of us who are continually made to feel as if we are "less than".

Earlier, while receiving award for the Record of the Year, Adele said, "My dream and my idol is Queen Bee [Beyoncé], and I adore you and you move my soul every single day and you have done for almost seventeen years". While accepting the award for Best Album of the Year for 25, Adele shared her award with Beyonce - literally.

Plenty agreed with her, but one fellow award victor doesn't. In glittery gown, gilded crown and gold choker, a pregnant Beyonce took the Grammy stage in a lengthy performance of two songs from her critically acclaimed album "Lemonade".

But the issue reignited claims the Grammys are racist - consistently overlooking black artists in favour of the white singers they inspire. "I had a bit of a shaky rehearsal, but I had been working really hard", the star said in the press room backstage afterward.

The audience responded with a standing ovation after she powered through the song.

Mark Cuban 'not smart enough to run for president — Trump Twitter tantrum
The New York Post recently claimed that Mark Cuban is on the list of people Trump "fears" will run against him in 2020. Once you got past [Ted] Cruz I really hoped you would dig into the issues. "It's a tough situation for CEOs".

"But my artist of my life is Beyoncé and this album, for me, the Lemonade album, was just so monumental".

Though she later referred to her son's father as her "partner", we heard you loud and clear the first time, Adele.

Bey did, however, take home a trophy for best urban contemporary album for "Lemonade".

Beyonce faces competition in the main categories from Adele, who proved her enduring, massive commercial popularity by sticking to her style of wrenching ballads.

"#Adele taught us all a great lesson just now".

However, a different kind of tribute featuring Beyoncé, Rihanna and James Corden - who essentially initiated Carpool Karaoke with George Michael - was also mooted.
