It is now understood that the firm has discontinued manufacturing display screens for the Apple Watch and will instead concentrate on producing OLED displays. However, a new report sheds light on the Apple Watch Series 3 display panel indicating that a different display technology will be used this time around.
The images on the patent filing revealed that a tiny wire will be connecting the battery on the strap to the back of the device, assumed to be Apple Watch Series 3.
On a separate report by Mac Rumors, the Apple Watch Series 3 will be showcased in the third quarter of 2017 and will enter production during the same period. Such technology could be delivered by Hong-Kong based Biel Crystal Manufactory or Taiwanese-based General Interface Solution.
