Honda Cars today entered the sun-four meter crossover segment in India with the launch of the WR-V. First introduced at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show, the new SUV has been priced aggressively between Rs 7 and 10 lakhs.
The new Honda WR-V SUV consists of platform having majority of specification and ideas of Honda Jazz. Priced from Rs 7.75 lakh, ex-Delhi, the Honda WR-V shares its underpinnings with the Jazz.
The cabin of the Honda WR-V gets a host of equipment such as a black interior theme that can be seen on the dashboard with chrome inserts, similar to the Jazz.
The WR-V come in two engine types: the first being the 1.5L DOHC i-DTEC diesel engine churns out 3600rpm of power and 200NM torque. The WR-V is 44 mm longer, 40 mm wider and 57 mm taller than the Jazz, measuring 3,999 mm in length, 1734 mm in width, 1601 mm in height and longer wheelbase of 2,555 mm. Around 90 percent of the parts of the vehicle are developed in India, Jnaneshwar Sen, senior vice-president (sales and marketing), Honda Cars India, told BloombergQuint.

Ueno said that with the launch of new Honda City sedan last month and WR-V now, the company is poised for a consistent growth in the coming months. The new City has received an overwhelming response with over 14,000 bookings till date. The petrol variant comes with a five-speed manual transmission while the diesel offers a six-speed manual transmission, it said.
Ltd. said, commenting on the launch said, "The WR-V is an all-new premium model in the Honda family and features the brand's global DNA. From February, the sentiment has improved and so is the business", he said.
