The app also gains a Flash messaging feature which allows users to send pre-defined messages for various things such as you've reached your destination safely, your location, a distress call or even an emoji.

Truecaller on Tuesday also announced a re-disgned Android app with features to filter out spam SMSes. It's supposed to send a flash SMS disclosing a caller's identity before their call hits a user's handset, thereby acting as a sort-of bridge between online functionality and offline devices. These include support for SMS inbox, flash messages and a one tap payment system called Truecaller Pay. It will be a subscription based service that will help users in avoiding unwanted calls (spam) without relying on the internet connection.
Customers of any bank can instantly start using "Truecaller Pay" with a one-time registration to create a new UPI ID or add an existing ICICI Bank virtual payment address (VPA). There are plenty of standalone apps that offer the same services as Truecaller, but by bundling them into a single app, the company is looking to make itself indispensable in India.
"Truecaller Pay" can be accessed conveniently via the "Send money through UPI" tab on Truecaller app's profile page.
This makes it the first time when Truecaller forays into financial services.
