"I think we still need to figure out what the president was talking about", Cornyn said on CNN's "New Day".
"I never believed it from the beginning", he said.
He promised to try to "get to the bottom of" whether Russians tried to help the Trump campaign and "whether Trump associates or anyone else was involved".
"Not that I've seen and not that I'm aware of", he replied, adding that the committee would take the claims seriously nonetheless, reviewing documents and taking testimony from witnesses to see if there was any such evidence.
The Committee's Chairman and Republican Representative David Nunes said they had "fully complied" with the White House request but did not say what evidence they had turned over.
Last week, the House Intelligence Committee received information from the Justice Department related to the wiretapping claims.
Mr Flynn was sacked by the president last month after his assurances that he had not talked to Russian officials were proved to be false.
