I always say that I am very happy at Chelsea. "We started the game very well with great attention and focus".

Adam Smith turned a sliced shot from Diego Costa into his own net for Chelsea's opening goal on Saturday, but was there a touch of luck?

"He is a very important player, not just outside on the pitch but also inside the dressing room". Manchester United is going to be a tough game for us but it doesn't matter who scores, hopefully we will get the three points. He has nearly scored 20 [current tally is 18] goals and that is a significant contribution.

"Then we conceded and lost a bit of confidence but then we managed the game and scored another with Marcos Alonso". If the people who know me said anything different, said I was a bad kid, that would hurt me.

"It's good to have someone like Diego around who is amusing and provides something to enjoy".

It is the second time this season where reports have surfaced over Costa's future - the first time being when Chinese Super League club Tianjin Quanjian allegedly turned his head with a lucrative offer to take him to the Far East.

Costa previously revealed the extent to which he tried to engineer a return to Atletico Madrid before finally ending up in front of Chelsea boss Antonio Conte with his "tail between his legs".

Alonso, 26, has praised Costa's impact at Stamford Bridge and expects the striker to test the United defence this weekend.

"I have another two years on my contract", he said. "But I'm not saying I'm happy with my life in London, because that is something totally different".

"The club gives me a lot, the supporters, the team-mates. I'm happy for him but above all for the team".
