Knee injuries have plagued the three-time All-Star and 2010-11 MVP while he was with the Bulls.
This year, his first with the New York Knicks, had been going well.
Derrick Rose needs surgery to fix torn left knee cartilage and the New York Knicks say he will miss the rest of the season. He averaged 18 points and 4.4 assists for a team with a 29-47 record entering Sunday's game against Boston. "The explosiveness that you saw years ago, you saw (this year)".
The Knicks were recently eliminated from playoff contention, so not having Rose on the court won't affect the team's chances of making a late-season run toward the postseason, but it definitely won't help the Knicks evaluate whether or not they want to bring the former MVP back. This injury will require arthroscopic surgery (his fourth knee surgery) at the worst possible time as he's set to hit free agency this summer.
On Sunday, The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Rose will miss the rest of the 2016-17 season with a torn meniscus.
Back to burgers: Carl's Jr. ditches bikini-clad ads
It appears as if Carl's Jr and Hardee's are going back to their roots and focusing on what actually matters-the food. In a 2015 interview with Entrepreneur, Puzder explained his thinking behind the ads of old: "I like our ads".
Ryan to provide details on 'path forward' for healthcare later this week
The GOP holds just 52 seats in the Senate. "If the Republican Party doesn't unite, ObamaCare stays the way it is", O'Reilly said. It was four days ago that Ryan abruptly canceled that vote on the GOP bill annulling much of President Barack Obama's 2010 law.
Oil gains as Libyan crude drop offsets what Opec curbs couldn't
Front-month Brent crude futures, the worldwide benchmark for oil, rose 29 cents, or 0.6 percent, to $51.62 per barrel by 0653 GMT. Russian Federation and 10 other non-OPEC producers have agreed to jointly cut by an additional 600,000 barrels per day.
After a strong start to his career which saw Rose winning league MVP in 2010/11 season, Rose has been pestered by knee problems for the better part of his National Basketball Association career, suffering a torn ACL in the 2011/12 season and then a torn MCL in the 2013/14 season.
When he's healthy, Rose is a dynamic scorer. Rose has missed the past two games with what had been termed a sore left knee.
This should also quash any talks of re-signing Rose for the Knicks, at least at the level that Rose has been looking for.
A disappointing first year in NY has come to a close for Derrick Rose.
