Not only does the deluxe version of Mario Kart 8 comes with all DLC characters and courses unlocked (whether you purchased them on the Wii U or not), the game also comes with new characters and a new course already available in Battle Mode as well. And who would've guessed, it's still fantastic. Even though the Wii U could only handle the game at 720p, it was visually striking, and it played like a dream. Those outside of the USA may have better luck. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe lets you do that twice thanks to the addition of a second item slot. Stunningly handsome across 32 exciting tracks. That's an impressive leap forward in cultural relevance made all the more unusual by Mario Kart's true origin. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still that same gorgeous game filled with great courses, characters, and karts.
Much like its predecessors, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a racing game featuring some of Nintendo's most iconic characters such as Mario, Luigi, and Bowser.
Each race in Mario Kart is full of split-second decisions.
If you know other people with the Nintendo Switch, those consoles can be linked. Making decisions at the drop of a hat will decide your race, as well as a bit of random chance when you're waiting for your new item to be revealed.
