A 23-year-old woman alleged in the report that Conley sexually assaulted her in a suite at the downtown Cleveland Westin in the early-morning hours of April 9.
Kevin Spellacy, Conley's attorney, vehemently denied the allegations to WOIO-TV in Cleveland. No charges have been filed, nor has an arrest warrant been issued for Conley. She said she decided not to stay with her friends and went with Conley back to his room.
Police spokeswoman Jennifer Ciaccia says investigators are making arrangements to interview Conley, one of the top defensive prospects in the upcoming National Football League draft. It is hard to gauge just how far Conley might slide in the draft given how little information is available, here, but for what it's worth, the OSU standout will no longer be attending Philadelphia's big show on Thursday.
Despite Conley's denials of the allegations made against him, it could still hinder his draft stock in some sort of way. When police arrived at the Westin, the player had already left. She claimed she met Conley in an elevator around 3 a.m., that they went to his hotel room and that he propositioned her for group sex with his friend and another woman, which she declined. The police later interviewed two people at the hotel room who identified as associates of Conley's.
