Can Nokia and BlackBerry stand on their own, or is it all hype and nostalgia? Nokia says the big OS updates that Google makes for Android will be rolled out to the Nokia 6 and other Nokia smartphones. The build number for the update is 00CN_3_170, and brings Android 7.1.1 to the phone, along with the latest April 2017 Android security patches. Also, once the update is installed, the Nokia 6 will offer support for 4G/3G dual-SIM dual-standby.
It seems like the Nokia USB driver and preload apps have also been updated. The new Nougat version for the device weighs 369MB but needs at least 620MB free storage in order to install the update. Both smartphones were rumoured to get launched at HMD Global's Mobile World Congress (MWC) press conference in February.
The Nokia 6 also gets the monthly security patch from Google - 2017.4.
