Real Madrid supporters were hailing another incredible Champions League night from their all-time record scorer Cristiano Ronaldo yesterday morning.
Bayern teammates Philip Lahm and Xabi Alonso will hang up their boots in a matter of weeks, meaning the defeat in the Bernabeu spelled the end of their Champions League playing days.
In December, Lewandowski signed a new contract with Bayern which made him the highest-paid player in the Bundesliga on £12.5 million per season, before bonuses.
His involvement in the game was limited in terms of impact and physical strength but, in spite of that, he knows he has admirers at the Bernabéu who will attempt, if it is at all possible, to get him to Madrid in the near future.
"They have told me their second goal was also offside".
"I'm not asking them to name streets after me, the only thing I ask is that they don't boo me here", Ronaldo told Spanish TV station Antena 3.
Much like the first leg six days ago though, Madrid weathered the early storm and had plenty of chances to go in front before half-time. This season we've come up against perhaps the strongest side in the competition.

"I think we deserved more", fumed Ancelotti.
Lewandowski did not play in the first leg of the tie in Munich, which ended in a 2-1 Real Madrid victory, but returned to score in the second although he was unable to guide his side through to the last four. Our team gave it everything, you mustn't forget that some of our players had knocks. There are few players that are always there in the key moments, and the fans will be grateful for what Cristiano has done here.
Cristiano Ronaldo completed a flawless hat-trick to register his 100th Champions League goal but his second and third strikes both appeared to be offside.
In the first half we could have scored one or two goals; it was the same in the second half, but we conceded.
Ronaldo had scored only two goals in the eight Champions League games he had played before the quarterfinals.
"Mats Hummels is okay, he trained without problems", Ancelotti added."I will leave Jerome Boateng and Javi Martinez out because they continue to have minor problems".
