Syrian Catholic leaders have condemned the missile strikes launched against their nation by the USA on Thursday following a chemical attack that killed over 80 civilians in the Syrian town of Idlib.

"We can only allow any investigation when it's impartial, when we make sure that unbiased countries will participate in this delegation in order to make sure that they won't use it for politicised purposes", Assad said Wednesday.

"No one has investigated what happened in Khan Sheikhoun. There's no concrete evidence".

But the UK Ministry of Defence and Turkish authorities say they have carried out tests on samples that provide evidence that Sarin or a similar substance was used.

"The Director-General shared with the council the immediate steps taken by technical secretariat experts to analyse the available information and their preliminary assessment that this was a credible allegation", said the United Nations watchdog on chemical weapons.

The April 4 attack in the town of Khan Sheikhoun, blamed by many governments on the forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, killed scores of people and prompted the U.S. to launch a missile strike on a Syrian air base in response. We don't know if they were dead or who committed the attack.

"The west, mainly the United States, is hand in glove with the terrorists", he said in an interview with Agence France-Presse (AFP).

Syria and Russian Federation have suggested a conventional airstrike by the Syrian army may have hit a depot storing chemical weapons possessed by extremists.

But the new-and-improved model of Australia's top-ranked player now chases harder, runs further and digs deeper than ever before. Isner said: "Right now, a lot of people could argue he's playing maybe the best tennis he's ever played".

In the interview, Assad insisted it was "not clear" whether an attack on Khan Sheikhun had even happened.

"You have a lot of fake videos now", he said, according to AFP.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's first direct talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin this week failed to ease deepening tensions over Syria.

He said investigators have collected samples that have been sent for analysis.

On Wednesday, Russia vetoed a UN Security Council resolution demanding a probe, prompting Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson to say Moscow had put itself "on the wrong side of the argument".

Christian relief groups and other humanitarian organizations have strongly condemned the "brutal" chemical weapons attack on Syria last week, but largely declined to comment on President Donald Trump's reaction to it.

"We have always been and continue to be deeply concerned by the horrific suffering that has been visited on the people of Syria throughout this war".

The OPCW's Fact Finding Mission for Syria is conducting an investigation and is expected to report its findings in three weeks.

Mr Trump on Wednesday said he believed relations between Moscow and Washington were near rock-bottom.

The US had, until its Shayrat attack, limited its involvement in Syria to removing the so-called Islamic State (IS) from its stronghold in the city of Raqqa.
