The Los Angeles Lakers were busy Tuesday, hosting De'Aaron Fox and Josh Jackson for workouts at their practice facility in El Segundo, California. However, since Jackson has only worked out with the Lakers so far during these draft proceedings, it seems "likely" that the team is Los Angeles. Or maybe, as many have speculated since Goodman reported the cancellation, a team (conceivably the Lakers) already has made a promise to Jackson that it will draft him.
Dennis Smith Jr. impressed the LA Lakers during his workout, according to Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News.
UCLA standout Lonzo Ball showed up on Jimmy Kimmel Live! just after the Golden State Warriors wrapped up defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Finals to talk about his own National Basketball Association future. Jackson is regarded as one of the best defenders in this draft class, an area of great need for the Lakers. I just do what I'm supposed to do.
It's unclear when the Lakers will meet with Ball again, or if he will accept the offer - odds are he will considering he wants to be a Laker pretty badly - but it's definitely worth noting ahead o ftime. Here is the latest in our series on draft prospects projected to be picked around where the Wizards will select. Though he averaged 16.3 points and 3 assists while shooting 54.9 percent during his lone season at Kansas, he considers his shooting stroke and ball handling as areas he needs to improve. "Just myself. I don't compare". "College is over. I just kind of put that behind me".
"I'm going to have to perform in games", Fox said.
"I always hated losing and loved winning", Jackson said. As you can see in the highlight video below, he is an explosive athlete who can consistently make plays above the rim.
