The newly released Politico/Morning Consult survey shows a 5-point increase among those who favor impeachment, from 38 percent to 43 percent.

Sen. Sam McCann, a Republican who backed Trump and is considering a 2018 run for IL governor termed the calls for impeachment as hyper-partisan "I believe that calling for impeachment this early is a form of hyper-partisanship", he said "If we find out that he is guilty of a crime that is worthy of removing him from office, I'll be one of the first to call for it".

Support for the idea of impeaching President Donald Trump increased to 43 percent from 38 percent among US voters in a Politico/Morning Consult poll released Wednesday, after his return from his first trip overseas since winning the White House. But support for impeachment has risen in the last week.

The Economist intelligence Unit, a nonpartisan global organization of political experts and economists, increased its forecast on the likelihood of Trump's impeachment to moderate from low on Friday, after Texas Representative Al Green called for the exhaustive political process to begin to the floor of Congress.

Alderman Ameya Pawar of Chicago had also drafted a city council ordinance calling for Trump's impeachment. The towns calling for congressional action to remove the president from office include the MA municipalities of Amherst, Brookline, Cambridge, Leverett and Pelham, as well as the California municipalities of Alameda, Berkeley, Los Angeles and Richmond, Politico reports. Former President Gerald Ford famously said that an impeachable offense "is whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history".

US Constitution, Article II, Section 2 on pardon power of the president: 'The President shall.have Power to Grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment'.

The House of Representatives has impeached two USA presidents in the past including Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton but were acquitted by the Senate. "But in this country, we're innocent until proven guilty ... let's give it a chance to play out". "Democrats will be calmer, knowing that a safe pair of hands is leading the Russian Federation investigation".

Despite the number of calls for impeachment coming from MA communities, U.S. Rep. Joe Kennedy avoided discussing it when asked about the issue on Friday. Other lawmakers have resisted the idea as multiple investigations into Trump's relationship with Russian Federation continue.

Of the group that wants Congress to pursue impeachment, 43 per cent think the president has committed an offense at this stage that should get him kicked out of office.

In 1974, President Richard Nixon was facing impeachment procedures over the Watergate scandal, but resigned from office before it went through. Until then, people just need to deal that he is the President of the United States and unpopular opinion of him does not change that fact one iota.
