He was drafted by the Brewers in 2009 and began his Major League Baseball career with four seasons for that organization, but Milwaukee waived Gennett this spring to make room for Jonathan Villar at second base.

"I try to make a habit to try to get them as close to 100 percent as possible", Reds manager Bryan Price said.

Through his first four starts, the righty was just OK (for a rookie pitcher), posting a 2-2 record with a 5.89 ERA. His four-homer night more than doubled his season total to seven.

"I think we're all exhausted of making excuses", Matheny said.

Anyway, Gennett's game scores 31 points - just one behind the all-time mark, although remarkably, only tied for the best score of 2017.

Nola (3-3) earned his first win since April 20 and became the Phillies' first starter to pitch past the seventh inning this season.

RED SOX 5, YANKEES 4: Mitch Moreland and Hanley Ramirez hit back-to-back home runs and Andrew Benintendi later connected off struggling Masahiro Tanaka, powering Boston past NY at New York.

The final piece of the puzzle, of course, is to try and lock users further into Apple's ecosystem of products and services. Soon, a device embossed with "Designed by Apple in California" may be on your nightstand or kitchen counter as well.

And then, after a first-inning RBI single - the home runs are the headline, but Gennett tallied 10 RBIs, too, making him just the 14th player to do so in modern baseball history - the Red took Adam Wainwright deep in the third inning for the second grand slam of his career.

"It's very emotional. It was an honor to witness that".

Scooter Gennett delivered a historic performance during the Cincinnati Reds home game Tuesday night.

"He had a career night, a great night", said Adam Wainwright (6-4), who gave up Gennett's second career grand slam.

"For a little guy like me to do this is just short of a miracle", Gennett said.

Gennett walked into Great American Ball Park with three home runs in 46 games. Eugenio Suarez went 1 for 3 with a triple while making up the other 3 Cincinnati RBIs in the win. He stopped at third base but was waved home as if the ball had hit one of the catwalks above the field despite replays seeming to show it didn't hit anything. Gennett would end his tear with another two-run homer in the eighth inning off of John Brebia. Gennett followed with his fifth homer of the season off John Gant, and then hit a solo shot off the right-hander. Cincinnati LHP Tony Cingrani was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list and RHP Lisalverto Bonilla was optioned to Triple-A Louisville.

A brief rain storm on Monday caused the Reds' batting practice to be cancelled, meaning Scott Schebler couldn't test his left shoulder that caused him to leave Saturday's game.
