Inmates at a South African prison known as Sun City were treated to "strippers" as part of an official event.
According to the findings on the preliminary investigation, the event was in line with June's youth-month celebrations on June 21. "We have beefed up the investigation, and we shall give the investigation team appropriate time", Smalberger said at a press briefing.
A major upset was caused after some pictures leaked on social media with ladies wearing rather revealing clothing in what looks like entertainment for prisoners at the Johannesburg Prison.
"The dancers were obviously not approved", said James Smalberger, acting National Commissioner of the Department of Correctional Services.
"The management of the event should have never allowed and immediately halted this type of entertainment".
He said the department condemned the images and would leave no stone unturned in dealing with the matter.

Apologising to the nation, he said: "We will make sure that those found guilty face the consequences of their actions and also that sufficient measures are in place to ensure that such incidents are not repeated".
The department added there was a "clear" breach of security plans approved for the event, but some officials obviously chose to go against them.
