President Donald Trump appeared to confirm Friday that he is under investigation for obstruction of justice, claiming that he is being investigated for firing FBI Director James Comey by the man who told him to do it.
Trump's young presidency has been battered by allegations - under investigation both by Congress and the FBI - that Russian Federation interfered to sway the 2016 election in his favor, in possible collusion with Trump's campaign team.
Trump on Thursday fired of a series of tweets describing the Russian Federation investigation as a "witch hunt" and he inquired to as to why Hillary Clinton's alleged dealings with Russian Federation were not being investigated.
Trump wrote that the investigation has not "been able to show any proof", an allegation that he assessed with one of his signature Twitter catchphrases: "Sad!"
Although he didn't name anyone, Trump appeared to be pointing the finger at Rod Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general who began overseeing the Russian Federation investigation after Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from it.
Trump's Friday tweet was the first official confirmation that he is being investigated by the special counsel over the reasons he fired Comey last month. Rosenstein last month appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller as special counsel overseeing the probe.
Trump hadn't publicly admitted he was personally under investigation until now. The tweet was not confirmation that the president or his attorney has been informed by the Department of Justice or Mueller that Trump is the subject of an investigation.

Can't the White House just prevent the officials from talking? "I can go around them".
"Trump likely will become more unhinged as headlines dog him day after day, a parade of witnesses troop in to talk to the special counsel and the investigation metastasizes ..."
The Twitter attacks came as Vice President Mike Pence hired a personal lawyer to represent him in the intensifying investigation.
