Manchester City centre-back John Stones insists that he will improve during his second season at the Etihad despite enduring a tough debut run under Pep Guardiola.

Guardiola revealed that Nasri is still searching for a new club following his side's 3-0 win over Tottenham in the Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

City have spent over 200 million pounds ($261.48 million) on transfers, according to British media, after Guardiola failed to win a trophy for the first time in his managerial career last season.

"But if the market gives us a chance we are going to try to sign (a defender)".

"Always with his feet he decides well, with the long and the short, he reads the decisions well, that's why I wanted him because to compete at the high level we need two excellent goalkeepers, if we don't have that, we can't". We've played tough games in America in testing conditions and the most important thing is to train and get fit. It is like (Eliaquim) Mangala. I have an idea, and after I go to the training sessions and I have a look, I watch my players. We don't think "it's pre-season, we don't care" - we do care. The ball is safe.

Midfielder Samir Nasri impressed against Tottenham, with his manager praising the 30-year-old's "unbelievable ability" and "special quality" - but the former France international's future still remains unclear.

"I like to work with the guys who want to work with us.

I'm so satisfied, especially in the last two games", Guardiola told the club's official website.

"I think so, but I don't want to say something wrong. If it doesn't happen, he will be part of the group".
