Gorka was being paid $155,000 a year as deputy assistant to the president and strategist, and Miller $179,700 a year as assistant to the president and senior policy adviser, as listed in an official report of White House staffers' salaries released in June.
All throughout his time serving in the White House, Gorka faced the unmitigated wrath of the Left-driven mainstream media for his strict stances on national security issues and his proposals for how to squelch the threat that radical Islamic terrorism poses. That stance reversed Trump's campaign pledges to end American involvement there, a shift also cited by Gorka in his parting letter.
Although Gorka expressed his frustration with the direction in which the White House is heading, he maintained that Trump and the wave of conservative-populism he helped usher in to the U.S. McMaster in particular has been a frequent target of Trump's supporters on the far-right, who have accused him of trying to steer Trump away from some of his populist leanings.
Now with Bannon back in Breitbart as executive chairman, it's probable Gorka be back at the national security beat at the right-wing news outlet.

Researcher Michael Smith needled Gorka with accusations like that on Twitter until, in February, Gorka called him from his personal cellphone and threatened to refer the posts to the White House's legal counsel.
In his first month on the job, White House chief of staff John Kelly has made significant progress toward imposing discipline on a chaotic operation, even as it's clear he still struggles to have the same effect on the president himself.
Gorka spoke to Matt Boyle on Breitbart News Saturday yesterday and talked about how the message that got President Trump elected is being undermined by others within the White House. Gorka denied having been a part of the group.
Gorka, who was born to Hungarian parents in Britain, was said to have had links to hard-right groups in Europe.
A source close to the White House said of his decision, "This was more or less going to be a done deal when Bannon submitted his resignation". The two worked together at Breitbart prior to joining the Trump administration. Instead, he appeared frequently on television or in various political forums as a spokesman for the president's foreign policy.
