The Mahoning County District Board of Health revealed last week that it has also trapped mosquitoes in Canfield that the Ohio Department of Health has found to be positive for West Nile Virus.
As of August 21, 10 human West Nile cases have been reported this year in Dallas County, with several in Far North Dallas and one as close as the Vickery Park area.
Twelve Idaho counties, including the surrounding Valley, Canyon, Elmore and Owyhee counties report finding mosquitoes that are positive for West Nile.
"We're at about week 33 here and we have approximately 250 mosquito pools that have tested positive for West Nile virus". Symptoms may start between three and 15 days after a person is bitten by an infected mosquito. "West Nile virus can be a serious disease, particularly for the elderly and people with certain medical conditions like cancer, diabetes, and kidney disease". However, no human cases have been reported in Macon County, and only four have been reported in IL this year. About one in five people will develop West Nile Fever with symptoms of headache, fever and fatigue.
No human cases have been reported locally this year.

If you go outdoors, you can put on insect repellent containing DEET, picaridin, Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus or IR3535 to help keep the mosquitoes away. Elimination of standing water will preventing the pests of breeding.
There is no vaccine for humans for mosquito-borne diseases, nor is there a specific treatment. The rest will experience fever, head and body ache, nausea, vomiting, and rashes on the back, chest, and stomach.
