Meanwhile, PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif says that the people of NA-120 have rejected the politics of chaos and conspiracies.

Maryam has led the campaign for her mother, who is in London for cancer treatment.

The Supreme Court disqualified Nawaz Sharif from office over a ruling he was dishonest in a corruption inquiry.

Maryam and her husband Capt (Retd) Safdar left for London by a PIA flight this morning, a day before they were summoned to appear before an accountability court in Islamabad in corruption cases linked to Panama Papers scandal. Sharif also launched his daughter to be his unofficial political strategist and spokesperson while delaying the announcement of the name of the candidate who would contest the by-election.

"Even if the end result comes against us, it will be considered a win for PTI since it is the PML-N's home and we gave them a tough time in their home constituency", Qureshi maintained. She won 61,254 votes, 14,188 more than her nearest rival, according to local media reports.

Mr Sharif has always denied any wrongdoing but the Supreme Court recently dismissed petitions seeking a review of that decision. She was leading the by-election campaign for NA-120 for her mother.

She then started knocking on doors to several homes and then swam across part of awhere she spotted a person and sought help. The mother reiterated her request for privacy, writing that their family had been apart for four weeks and need their space.

This position also lent weight to the PMLN accusation that thousands of its voters were turned away from the polling stations if their identity as PMLN supporters became known.

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz candidate for NA-120 consistency Begum Kulsoom Nawaz won by-election.

A number of charged PML-N workers had gathered outside the Model Town residence of the Sharif family. Although she did not name anyone, PML-N sources said she was referring to alleged intimidation by parts of Pakistan's powerful military.

PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi, while talking to DawnNews, said that he was happy and satisfied with the polling process.

PPP's candidate Faisal Mir attained 1414 votes, Milli Muslim League's supported candidate Yaqoob Sheikh received 5,822 votes and Jamat e Islami's Ziauddin Ansari received 592 votes.
