US Assistant captain Davis Love III has thrown his support behind Trump.

The 41-year-old Woods missed all major championships the past two years, and he made attempts to return to competitive golf late in 2016 and early this year. But nearly all of the session with reporters revolved around Woods, who is coming off serious back surgery and medication dependence that required therapy.

He said in his blog on May 24 that surgery brought instant nerve relief.

It was his first press conference since he was arrested close to his Florida home in May under suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. Three weeks later, he entered a treatment center.

The convivial atmosphere was extended to the members of the Junior Presidents Cup teams, who could get inside the ropes to chat with a number of players, including Jason Day and Marc Leishman, as they worked.

Team veteran Adam Scott is about to make his record-tying 8 appearance for the Internationals, debuting 5 years after the 1998 matches.

"There were times when..."

But I think President Trump is right. But as I said, we just take it one step at a time. "Driving a auto still hurt".

"So that's going to take time to figure out what my capabilities are going forward, and there's no rush". For now, he is working out six days a week, "alternating between the treadmill, bike riding, swimming and lifting twice a day". "As I alluded to last week, I'm hitting 60-yard shots".

Asked if he could see a scenario where he didn't come back to competitive golf, the former world No 1 replied: "Yeah, definitely".

"I don't know what my future holds for me".

Full-Length Trailer for Lady Gaga Documentary 'Gaga: Five Foot Two'
Gaga revealed to fans a week ago that she had been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia , a disease that causes chronic joint pain. Lady Gaga is a bundle of contradictions and she tries to unwind them in a new documentary, " Gaga: Five Foot Two ".

"I asked the guys this morning on the bus, 'How do you guys want to handle it?" There's just no greater thing that I could ever imagine.

I think you'll see in golf that there's a little bit more restraint. But I certainly don't have my golf muscles trained because obviously I'm not doing anything golf related. I was ranked No. 1 on the team for a reason, and I didn't show up.

". Overall I'm very optimistic how I'm progressing", Woods said. He's also as uncertain as ever.

"It's the pure enjoyment about, one, the competition, but also being with the guys that's a different role, not a player", he said.

Most of those inquiries centred on Woods' health and if there is a timetable for his return.

An assistant to United States captain Steve Stricker this week, Woods believes a duel on Sunday (Monday NZ time) between the two former world No 1 ranked golfers could add much-needed drama to the lopsided biennial teams event.

And he's loving every minute of it.

The action will be televised on Sky Sports Golf in the UK and on NBC and the Golf Channel in the United States, with the first round due to tee off on Thursday at 6.05 p.m. (BST)/1.05 p.m. (ET).

The US PGA Tour commissioner, Jay Monahan, said on Tuesday that Trump was expected to attend, most likely on Sunday.

Phil Mickelson, who's competed against Woods for more than two decades, summed up Woods 2.0 best: "It's been fun for guys like myself and other guys on the team to get to know him".
