A firefighter in the city of Janauba in the state of Minas Gerais said by telephone that Cecilia Davina Goncalves Dias and Yasmin Medeiros Salvino died Friday afternoon due to burns that covered most of their bodies.
He was taken to hospital with burns to around 90 percent of his body.
The incident occurred in a modest quarter of Janauba, a city of 70,000 about 600km north of Belo Horizonte city.
Reports revealed the security guard, identified as Damiao Soares dos Santos, 50, was mentally ill and had worked in the centre since 2008.
At least four children and a teacher were killed at a day care center in Brazil after a security guard doused them with flammable liquid and then set a fire.
Around 50 people were injured in the incident where they were admitted to the local hospital.

The huge blaze covered an area of 2,00 acres by 9pm last night forcing authorities to order evacuations for 1,000 homes. Overnight, five helicopters with night-vision and three planes tried combating the wildfire from above.
