ESPN reported that Bradford visited Dr. James Andrews in Florida on Tuesday to have his ailing left knee reevaluated.
Vikings placed QB Sam Bradford on injured reserve with a knee injury, ending his season. But with Bridgewater expected to return to the roster Wednesday, joining Case Keenum, who has gone 4-2 as the starter the past six games, Bradford might be the odd man out.
Keenum replaced Bradford in the Bears game and led Minnesota to a 20-17 victory, and he's won each of his four starts since then.
Mortensen says Andrews had previously shared that Bradford's knee is structurally sound, and nothing he saw during Tuesday's procedure would indicate anything different. He spent the first six weeks on the physically unable to perform list, was medically cleared to return to practice on October 18, and the Vikings then had a three-week window to determine if Bridgewater was ready to play this season.
It's been a long road to recovery for Bridgewater.
