The investigation into the Louisville program resulted in the firing of coach Rick Pitino last month. And regardless of whether Bowen was or was not aware of the financial deal that allegedly led to his enrollment, the reality is that federal agents believe Louisville committed major rules violations to secure his commitment.
"We got lucky on this one", Pitino told Terry Meiners of News Radio 840.
Bowen has been suspended from play since late September from the Louisville team as the FBI investigation took place.
