David Cassidy on life support with multiple organ failure

David Cassidy, who starred in "The Partridge Family" and went on to have a long career in music and acting, has been hospitalized with organ failure, according to reports. Both his kidney and liver are failing, a representative for the actor confirms to EW.

Cassidy, aged 67, is "now conscious" and "surrounded by family", a representative said.

The actor is best known for his role as Kevin Partridge in the 1970s musical sitcom The Partridge Family, causing him to become a popular teen idol and pop singer.

Cassidy has dealt with substance abuse issues and bankruptcy since finding success early in his life.
