Trump said this is her first visit to Japan.

Ivanka Trump's speech, in fact, was the most registered-for event of the summit and tight security led officials to close doors early to waiting crowds.

After an introduction by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, rumored to have a "bromance" with President Trump over their unity against North Korea, Ivanka spoke on workplace harassment and economic empowerment for women. No packed throngs of attendees, though, were seen even 10 minutes before the event began.

She laid out "four fundamental changes that will propel women into the future" of the global economy, highlighting the real estate developer turned entrepreneur turned senior adviser to the President's work in the West Wing. She said there has been "significant improvement" in Japan in recent decades, adding, "it will continue to grow in great measure due to Prime Minister Abe's vision for Japan".

Through his so-called womenomics policies - which seek to create "a society where women can shine", Abe said he has "used his efforts to the utmost" on the issues of child care and creating better working environments for women.

Advocating for women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields, Trump said male-dominated sectors were "moving in the wrong direction".

Ivanka Trump's father had been accused by multiple women of sexual harassment and assault, all of which his representatives denied. "This takes many forms, including harassment, which can never be tolerated".

Ivanka Trump, the USA president's daughter and senior advisor, arrived in Japan on Thursday for a three-day stay ahead of a visit by her father.

Gone is the bulky body armor used when facing rioters or unsafe criminals, to be replaced by smart black suits.

"We opted for a more cultivated look to suit the occasion", an officer in charge of the security plan said. Trump will stop in Hawaii Friday for a ceremony at Pearl Harbor.
