HP has announced its latest range of Chromebook laptops ahead of CES 2018. With all of that, it still comes in at under 19mm thin, and weighs in at 2.8 pounds.

Acer's hiding a quiet revolution in its mainstream Chromebook 11: two USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5Gbps) Type-C ports, which work for connectivity and for charging. They are all driven by Intel Celeron processors. Acer says these new Chromebooks are ideal for everyday use with their super portable design and up to 10-hours of battery life. Although seeing how it charges over USB-C now, you may have one in your bag anyway. The company has promised more durability in the Chromebook 14 G5 and Chromebook 11 G6. Having the model number CB311, this new Chromebook is said to come with no compromises to the battery life.

The Chromebook 11 G6 comes with an 11.6-inch display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels.

There are actually two USB-C ports, so you can use one to top up the battery and a second for copying files from a phone or memory stick. Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi 802.11ac 2×2 MIMO are also onboard as standard.

Once officially launched, the new Chromebook 11 will be hitting shelves in two different variants.

Still, given most people look to Chrome OS for its balance of capabilities and affordability, we suspect more will pick the new Acer than cough up around four times the amount for the Pixelbook.

The Chromebook 11 will launch in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East in March, and in North America in April, for a base price of $249.

It comes with either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, depending on your specifications choice, and models can have up to 4GB of RAM. HP Chromebook 14 G5 will go on sale in February as well and the pricing remains a mystery.
