The "recommended" section into Instagram's main feed will show posts of accounts that users do not follow but instead show accounts/posts that Instagram thinks you might like. It is not clear as to what Instagram's goal might be in the recently released features. However, a spokesperson did confirm that the recommended posts will only appear once users have gone through their own feed. However, fans are expecting to have more information in the coming months. With the new feature, you can select to follow a particular hashtag, and posts with these hashtags will begin appearing on your timeline.
The good news is that the "Recommended for You" section is not meant to displace the content you care about in favor of Instagram's own suggestions.
There's no doubt that there will be a number of users who will not like the "recommended posts" feature.
