The Health Department says its numbers represent only a fraction of flu illnesses since most people do not go to a doctor. "If you do get sick, stay home from work or school until you recover".

The influenza outbreak continues to worsen in our state. State laboratories performed a total of 370 tests for influenza and 246 were positive.

Health departments in Bryan, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty and McIntosh counties are offering free flu vaccines for those without insurance.
