The comparative sizes of the three new Apple smartphones expected in 2018.
The iPhone X, Apple's first OLED phone, uses Samsung technology.
In other news, Apple may soon launch a new color variant of the iPhone X - "blush gold". This shows that there's room for Apple to improve - and, frankly, improve dramatically - on this relatively annoying aspect of the iPhone X in future models. Ming-Chi Kuo, KGI Securities analyst said that the TrueDepth camera system was the main reason behind the problems because of its complicated facial recognition technologies. It is supposed to be an upgrade to the existing iPhone X. The most interesting fact about this device is that Apple has chose to keep its initial manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) much lower than that of iPhone X.
Interestingly, Lin also said in the report that Apple had previously planned to launch a 5.85-inch model with an LCD panel to keep the MBOM in check. "Lin cited information from Apple's upstream supply chain as indicating that the new device's MBOM will be more than 10 per cent lower than that for iPhone X. He added that the MBOM of the iPhone X was more than US$400 in 2017", the research note mentioned. "However, the project was shut mid-February and maybe eventually terminated".

One injured and one missing after Texas chemical plant explosion
Cresson Mayor Bob Cornett said the liquid chemical plant where the blast happened manufactures products like soap an acid. Cornett told AP that the plant mixes chemicals used mainly by the oil and gas industry to drill disposal wells.
According to Ray Soneira, owner of display screen testing company DisplayMate Technologies, this is a golden opportunity for Apple.
However, it looks like Apple may launch a 5.8-inch OLED display iPhone at a cost reportedly "much lower" than the iPhone X.
However, Apple is said to have reached an agreement with Samsung Display and secured satisfactory terms that will prevent the panel costs from increasing. The third option, meanwhile, will have an edge-to-edge display and Face ID similar to the iPhone X but with an LCD display and aluminum edges.
Lin also believes the 5.85-inch OLED iPhone may be the cheapest of the three new devices. We could very well see a new Apple Pencil with expanded compatibility for lower-end iPads.
The company is rumored to be working on three new iPhones for 2018. While the display on the iPhone X is extremely color accurate, it's still not quite flawless.
