Soul, Mar. 24 (BNA): North Korea has accepted South Korea's proposal to hold high-level talks on March 29 to discuss the date and agenda items for an inter-Korean summit slated for late April, South Korea's Ministry of Unification said today.
Kim Jong Un's government sent a message to its southern neighbour accepting the invitation. The North's delegation will be led by Ri Son-kwon, one of the senior North Korean officials who visited the South during the Winter Olympics last month, part of the stage-setting for the current détente between the Koreas after a year of high tension over Pyongyang's nuclear program. This became soon evident when the USA administration described the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's nuclear and missile threat as "imminent" and "alarming, ' with the then Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson highlighting the end of U.S. policy of 'strategic patience" during his visit to this region.
It hit out at "incumbent and former officials and experts of the U.S." who have said that North Korea performed a U-turn without Washington having to make any concessions, and those who have said its willingness to talk is because American-led sanctions are crippling the North Korean economy. South Korean officials also brokered a potential meeting between Mr Kim and President Donald Trump by the end of May.

Moon proposed a summit between the U.S., South Korea and North Korea earlier this week to be held following the separate talks between the North and South, and then Kim and Trump. But there had been no official word from Pyongyang. North Korea has been notified of the schedule "as well as the defensive nature" of the exercises, the Pentagon said.
North Korean state media have not yet directly mentioned the summits.
FEBC is moving forward with plans for a new radio tower in South Korea that will be able to extend its reach across the entire country of North Korea. However, if we closely examine the Trump's approach towards North Korea and put the things together, it can be observed that Trump's decision to talk with Kim is not an isolated and spontaneous act.
