The Houston Rockets will carry the league's best overall record and longest winning streak - 14 straight wins - into their game against the Boston Celtics on Saturday night.

Houston trailed by six before using a 10-2 run, with the last five points coming from Trevor Ariza, to take a 117-115 lead with 1:16 remaining.

Kyrie Irving raced down court and made a quick layup to pull back with two but with only 7.9 seconds to play.

Irving tried to miss his second attempt with five seconds left, but the ball went in off the bank. Gordon made one of two free throws to make it 123-120 with 2.3 seconds remaining, and Marcus Smart's 3-point attempt bounced off the rim at the buzzer to give Houston the win.

James Harden, Chris Paul and the Houston Rockets needed some late dramatics to extend the franchise's longest win streak in over two decades. It's their second long winning streak of the season after the NBA-leading Rockets won 14 in a row from November 16 to December 18. Kyrie Irving led the team with 34 points, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Morris each scored 15 points while Greg Monroe chipped in with 14 points off the bench. Harden had 26 points and ten assists and Ariza had 21. After Boston came back from 26 points down to defeat Houston Dec. 29, the Rockets had been looking for some payback.

Fournier added two free throws with 8.2 seconds remaining to finish with 19 points. Over the past five games, they score 118.6 points per 100 possessions, the most in the league.

They discuss Danny Ainge's draft history, how the nine-man rotation from the Rockets game is a nice preview for the Celtics' playoff look and even talked a little Oscars stuff off the top.

After leading the Houston Rockets by six points late in the fourth quarter, the Celtics should have wanted more than that.

Gordon and Ariza got things going during that stretch by hitting consecutive 3s.

It only got worse when a sprawled out Al Horford was unable to call timeout - and without his teammates or Celtics coach Brad Steven successfully (read as: audibly) alerting the referees for a timeout - and forced yet another turnover in a close game. Harden made a free throw on the technical and Nene added a basket soon after that to put Houston up 84-81.

Boston ranks third in 3-pointers made (740) this season.

Josh Richardson and Kelly Olynyk scored 17 points each as host Miami defeated Detroit.

Ryan Anderson is now dealing with a sore left hip and Brandan Wright is dealing with a sore right knee. D'Antoni said he expects Anderson to return sometime next week.

Memphis led 84-77 early in the fourth quarter, the biggest lead for either team until Orlando (20-43) matched it in the final seconds. On Monday night, the Celtics absolutely dominated the injury-riddled Memphis Grizzlies.

Russell Westbrook had 30 points and 11 rebounds for Oklahoma City, but he couldn't prevent the defeat, one that breaks a three-game winning streak.
