Federation Internationale de Football Association have announced that the controversial video assistant referee (VAR) system will be used at the World Cup for the first time ever.
FIFA World Cup, which takes place from June 14 to July 15 will experience the video replay which will judge various important aspects during the games like crucial goal-line decisions, important penalty calls, and red cards.
According to the Phoenix Business Journal, Phoenix is not among the 23 cities announced Thursday for the North American World Cup bid.
"It's an essential, important and historic decision, based on the meeting of Ifab two weeks back".
"The VAR is helping the referee and we are going to have a more transparent and fairer game, and that's what we want".
