North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has made his first direct acknowledgment of the prospect of talks with the US, addressing the issue at a meeting of the ruling party's Politburo, state-run media reported Tuesday.
USA media reported that U.S. and North Korean intelligence officials have spoken several times with a focus on nailing down a location for the summit.
According to the KCNA report, the party leaders who met Monday approved a budget for this year that will be presented to the parliament.
North Korea's government has communicated with the United States to say that leader Kim Jong Un is ready to discuss his nuclear weapons program, increasing the likelihood that the unprecedented summit will actually occur. "They've said so, we've said so, hopefully it'll be a relationship that's much different than it's been for many, many years".
The White House had previously said the president would meet with Kim before the end of May.

Kim Jong-un watches South Korean K-Pop show in Pyongyang
The mistress of ceremony during the concert in Pyongyang will be Seohyun , the group's south Korean K-pop Girl's Generation . However, less obtrusive command post exercises, with some 12,000 U.S. troops, will overlap the summit, Yonhap noted.
Trump said that Washington "maintains contact with North Korea", and also noted that the United States wants a "fair deal". "And my argument that dialogue with Trump is one-sided go for Pyongyang is still valid".
If the summit does take place, many remain skeptical about the whether a meeting between the two notoriously unpredictable leaders can succeed.
The paper filled its front page with KCNA's report, along with pictures of Kim chairing the politburo meeting.
Since that time, the North Koreans have been quiet about whether they'll show up for the meeting and there have been no additional details about when and where it could take place. It gave them 200,000 jobs. The meeting was held on Monday.
The members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau are Kim Yong Nam, Choe Ryon Hae, Pak Pong Ju and Hwang Pyong So, though the South Korean spy agency has reported that Hwang was purged previous year. "Now there is a good chance that Kim Jong Un will do what is right for his people and for humanity", he wrote then.
