All six quakes were between 6 miles and 11 miles deep, according the PNSN website.
The temblor was situated 218 km southwest of Port Hardy, a town on the northernmost tip of Vancouver Island.
The US Geological Survey said the preliminary 6.6-magnitude quake was 6.8 miles deep, about 135 miles southwest of Port Hardy, a town on the northeastern end of Vancouver Island.
Geophysicist Amy Vaughan said the three larger quakes ranged from magnitude 6.5 to 6.8 and that there were possibly some smaller ones as well as some aftershocks.
There were no immediate tsunami warnings following the earthquakes.
