The Ocala Fire Department said on Facebook that emergency responders returned to the shooting scene to treat three people.

The shooting escalated from an argument between the two that led to Cronin screaming for help, according to authorities.

Scotty Ballard told the Ocala Star-Banner that Cronin was his roommate and that Johnson and Cronin had dated for about nine months but weren't now together. Authorities were contacted after the victim was shot. Johnson wanted to get back together, but she did not, Ballard said.

Colleen Wade told the Ocala Star-Banner she heard a crashing sound and turned down an aisle in the garden section where she saw a man standing over a woman firing shots.

A Florida man says the woman shot in a Walmart store was killed by her ex-boyfriend. The victim was treated on scene and taken to the hospital, but despite Ocala Fire Rescue's best efforts, she died as a result of her injuries.
