Meng was granted bail by a Canadian court on Tuesday, 10 days after her arrest in Vancouver - on USA claims that she misled multinational banks about Iran-linked transactions - caused a diplomatic dispute.
US President Donald Trump told Reuters on Tuesday he would intervene in the US Justice Department's case against Meng if it would serve national security interests or help close a trade deal with China.
Wednesday morning, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau rejected the idea of Canada taking part in that scheme.
Blumenthal then offered one last shot at Trump, saying law enforcement may be "a tool" of "political or diplomatic ends.in other countries, but not in this one".
The US and China have tried to keep Ms Meng's case separate from their wider trade dispute and suggested on Tuesday that talks to resolve their differences may resume.

"During Ms. Meng Wanzhou's detention, certain measures, including inhumane measures used against her, the provision of medical treatment necessary for her and measures for her basic well-being, were not in place at all", stated Kang.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Canadian government said that one of its citizens in China had been detained.

But ministry spokesman Lu Kang said the International Crisis Group, where Kovrig has been a Hong-Kong-based analyst since February 2017, is not registered in China and alleges its activities in the country are illegal.
Meng made a brief appearance at the front door earlier when she said goodbye to three people who left in a auto with diplomatic licence plates.
The Chinese embassy did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
If found guilty, Meng, 46, could be sentenced to 30 years in prison for each fraud and conspiracy charge she faces.
In an apparent message to Washington, China has warned against "bullying" its citizens and "creating new opponents", after the Huawei CFO was arrested in Canada on a United States warrant.
"This has our attention at the very highest level of our government", said Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland.
On Monday, China detained a former Canadian diplomat in Beijing in apparent retaliation.
Mr Kovrig had previously worked as a diplomat in Beijing, Hong Kong and at the United Nations in NY.
Meng added that she does "not have a criminal record in China or anywhere, and has never had any problems with law enforcement in China or overseas".
