While hardware companies often plan for and begin designing platform successors years in advance, it's still early in the Switch's lifecycle, and it's conceivable Nintendo is still focusing exclusively on Switch as a hardware platform, perhaps looking at iterating upon it rather than succeeding it anytime soon.
Will the Switch get a similar hardware refresh? In the translation, in response to a question on how Nintendo will reach its 20 million unit sales goal within the fiscal year, Furukawa states "It is an extremely ambitious, but worthwhile achievement".
