Crystal Palace have signed Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi on loan until the end of the season.

Crystal Palace reportedly remain confident of getting a loan deal over the line for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi.

Palace are long-time admirers of Batshuayi - they had a £31.6m bid for the striker accepted by Marseille in July 2016, only for personal terms to scupper any chance of a deal before Chelsea chose to make their move to sign him.

News has broken which claims that both West Ham United and Real Betis have had offers accepted to loan Batshuayi until the end of the season.

There was a time when everyone got excited for any Transfer Deadline Day, whether it was summer transfer window or a January one, yellow ties on, a day in front of Sky Sports News and listening to Jim White but this year was shaping up to be utterly boring.

And it's understood West Ham are close to offering Batshuayi an escape route after suffering a number of injuries in attack.

A permanent move away would make sense for the Belgian, however, we have failed with some transfers going on to become big names.

Batshuayi could be a huge signing for Palace who had tried to sign Dominic Solanke earlier in the month only to see him move permanently to Bournemouth.

Chelsea look all set to offload Michy Batshuayi and there is no shortage of takers for him.

In West Ham he'd have the opportunity to move back to England and show Chelsea why he still deserves a chance, while Betis would be geographically easier to arrange at such late notice.
