US President Donald Trump's former personal lawyer Michael Cohen has begun a three-day gauntlet of congressional appearances by giving a closed-door interview to the Senate intelligence committee, where he is expected to detail what he claims to know about Trump's contacts with Russians and other sensitive matters related to the president.
Cohen will appear before three congressional committees this week and is expected to discuss Trump's role in the crimes to which Cohen pleaded guilty in 2018, including campaign finance violations.

Trump's former personal lawyer Michael Cohen is set to testify privately today before the Senate Intelligence Committee and publicly on Wednesday before the House Oversight Committee.
"Convicted felon Michael Cohen is going to prison for lying, including lies he told under oath to Congress", RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel told Fox News.
Cohen once said he would "take a bullet" for Trump, but he has since turned against his former boss. Cohen is also set to be questioned by the Senate and House intelligence committees on Tuesday and Thursday, but those sessions will take place behind closed doors.
