According to his death certificate, Vincent died of cardiac arrest February 10 at a hospital in North Carolina.
Jan-Michael Vincent, who had a lengthy career in film and television across several decades and became famous in the 1980s as the star of the action series Airwolf, has died.
In addition to Airwolf, Vincent appeared in a number of other TV series, such as Police Story, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and Nash Bridges. We're told no autopsy was performed and he was later cremated.

Vincent battled with alcohol and substance abuse, having been arrested for possession of cocaine and bar brawls various times. TV movie roles in projects like Sandcastles and Disney's The World's Greatest Athlete would only expand his range. His noteworthy credits among the dozens of films in which he acted include Big Wednesday, with Gary Busey; Hooper, with Burt Reynolds; and Hard Country, opposite Kim Basinger.
In 2012, Vincent suffered from an infection as a result of complications from peripheral artery disease that required his right leg to be amputated.
