Zinedine Zidane is set to return as Real Madrid manager just 10 months after leaving the Spanish giants, according to European football expert Guillem Balague.

The Brazil global has been linked with a summer move to Juventus, where he would play alongside with former Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, but sources have told ESPN FC that he is planning on honouring a contract which ties him to the Bernabeu until 2022.

Real president Florentino Perez has been in contact - via an official - with Zidane since their Champions League elimination by Ajax last week.

"What I think is that this team needs to continue winning but I think it needs a change, a different voice, another methodology", he said at a news conference explaining his resignation a year ago.

He will take over at the club with immediate effect.

Isco has made 16 league appearances for Real this season, amassing one goal and two assists.

The only stumbling block was convincing Zidane to return to his former club.

Zidane was replaced by Julen Lopetegui, the former Spain coach fired before the World Cup for taking the Madrid job.

As Real lost 4-1 to Ajax at the Bernabeu, Ramos was pictured in a personalised executive box while surrounded by TV cameras, leading to suggestions he was more interested in his personal image than actually watching the match.

"It is a reason of pride when a club where you worked before wanted you to come back". The Wales global fell out of favour with Zidane during the Frenchman's final season in charge, and his return may force Bale to consider his future should he get the impression that he'll once again be on the peripheries of the starting XI. "Right now, that's not the issue, we have 11 games to play".

Gareth Bale was one of the few not to see eye-to-eye with the Frenchman and Bale's future will become even more uncertain, should Zidane's appointment be confirmed.

"The history of this club is not going to change".

Real Madrid could sign THREE stars this summer, with PSG's Neymar, Eden Hazard of Chelsea and Tottenham star Christian Eriksen topping their wishlist. I'm not happy with what has happened.
