Testifying before the House Appropriations Subcommittee, ostensibly to discuss other matters, Barr told representatives that he is preparing to release the report within a week.

Barr repeatedly refused to answer a direct question as to whether the White House has seen - or will see - the full Mueller report prior to its release.

Democrats have opened almost a dozen investigations of President Trump, but "at the top of the Democrats' list are three things they really want to see: Trump's tax returns, the full Mueller report, and Avengers: Endgame", Trevor Noah said on Tuesday's Daily Show. On Sunday, House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerry Nadler slammed Barr as "a biased defender of the administration"-comments that came just days after his committee voted to authorize him to subpoena the Justice Department for the full, unredacted Mueller report in case the public version proves unsatisfactory".

US Attorney General Bill Barr said Tuesday that his review of the Mueller Russia meddling investigation report is on schedule and he could release a redacted version by next week.

"I am reviewing the conduct of the investigation and trying to get my arms around all the aspects of the counterintelligence investigation that was conducted during the summer of 2016", Barr said during the hearing.

Barr's investigation is in addition to the one being conducted by the DOJ's inspector general.

Venezuela's opposition leader says medical aid to arrive soon
White House officials have declined to say whether they're considering direct military action in Venezuela. Severe shortages of food and medicine are common, and power blackouts have exacerbated the crisis.

"You're darn right I'm going after them again", Giuliani told the Associated Press of Mueller's team.

Three Democrats on the Commerce, Justice and Science Appropriations Subcommittee are also members of the Senate Judiciary Committee where will Barr will testify on the Mueller report next month, including the top Judiciary Committee Democrat Sen. "The question is whether it was predicated, adequately predicated", meaning whether it was legally justified. His review is separate from a Justice Department inspector general investigation into the early days of the FBI's Russian Federation probe, which Barr said he expects to conclude sometime around May or June.

"I believe that our country must respond to any foreign interference with the strongest measures, and we must work with partners at the state level to ensure that our election infrastructure is completely protected", his statement says. Every single thing about it.

Asked again about spying at the end of the hearing, Barr tempered his tone. Barr was grilled by Democrats on the handling of that summary, which stated the special counsel found no evidence of collusion between members of the Trump campaign and Russian Federation during the 2016 election. He told lawmakers he met with Mueller on March 4 for a preliminary discussion of the report and that Mueller's thinking was not a mystery to people he interfaced with at the Justice Department, including Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

Though he said the document will be redacted to withhold negative information about peripheral figures in the investigation, he said that would not apply to Trump, who is an officeholder and central to the probe.

Meanwhile, Trump falsely claimed again Wednesday that the Mueller report had found "no obstruction".
